Celtic prove a big attraction once again; upcoming opponents heading for sell-out

Pittodrie is heading for a sell-out for Celtic’s visit this weekend.

The Hoops take on Aberdeen on Sunday lunchtime in their first away match of the Premiership season.

Conversely, it is the Dons’ first home match of the campaign after they visited Livingston on matchday one.

Both sides are currently in a good place after mainly positive results in 2023. Aberdeen have had their hiccups (see Darvel) but they did rally under Barry Robson to finish third last season.

That feel-good factor, and the attraction of Scotland’s top club, is likely to lead to a big crowd this Sunday with Pittodrie heading for a sell-out.

The Aberdeen ticket website handily includes the number of seats available in each section of Pittodrie.

At the time of writing, there were a total of just 788 tickets still available for Dons fans to purchase.

The ‘Red Shed’ end of Pittodrie is unavailable to regular supporters. It’s not totally clear from the stadium plan whether that has also sold-out, but it is usually popular with fans.

Regardless, with less than 800 tickets available and the match still over three days away, it does seem very possible that Pittodrie will sell-out.

At the very least, it will look full on Sky Sports where the match is being shown.

The Celtic support will be packed in to three sections of the South Stand for the fixture. Our official allocation is 1,668.
