Celtic welcome Dundee United to Parkhead this evening in Scottish Premiership action.

The two clubs only met recently – 17 days ago, in fact – in a goalless draw at Tannadice.

It was the first time this season the Hoops had drawn a blank and was a frustrating afternoon for manager Brendan Rodgers.

The expectation was that the manager would rotate his squad vs Dundee United this evening with Jim Goodwin expecting Celts to provide a threat no matter their starting XI.

The most recent outing in Glasgow saw Celtic run out comfortable winners vs St Mirren and now it is all about maintaining that form and pushing even further ahead of Rangers in the title “race” with the Light Blues not in action until tomorrow.

But Rodgers has made no tweaks to the side who beat the Buddies 3-0.

Rodgers has named Celtic starting XI vs Dundee Utd

That means Adam Idah starts ahead of Kyogo while Luke McCowan retains his place.

There is a spot for Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn but Reo Hatate is on the bench.

In defence it is Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty with Liam Scales sitting on the sidelines.

And in midfield it is captain Callum McGregor who starts alongside Arne Engels and McCowan.

Celtic fans have now had their say on social media regarding Rodgers’ changes with some questions being raised – and some being content with the XI.

Celtic fans reacted to Rodgers’ XI vs Dundee United

One said: “Glad Idah is getting a run,” as another commented: “Let’s get behind the team tonight, 3-0, Hail Hail.”

One wrote: “Happy with that lineup, mon the Hoops”, as a fourth added: “Behind the team from the start.”

Others were concerned with Greg Taylor’s position ahead of Alex Valle following Rodgers’ comments on the left-back.

And one fan said: “What does Alex Valle have to do to start.” Another commented: “Add in Valle and it’s perfect.”

The game this evening will be available for punters to watch on pay-per-view and Celtic had a thank you to fans following an incident during the weekend’s game.

A power outage in Glasgow caused disruption to Celtic’s St Mirren clash with the club’s TV channel losing footage as well as issues for the VAR technology on the day.

But now the club have offered a 50 percent reduction in price for the PPV due to the chaos on Sunday.
