There was a lot to take from Celtic’s win over Livingston on Saturday.
It has been the story of Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic reign so far, it has been full of the good, the bad and the ugly.
Thankfully, Celtic managed to beat Livingston to ease the pressure on Nancy, but Chris Sutton isn’t letting certain players off the leash yet.
Time and time again this season, Sutton has made it clear that Johnny Kenny, who started against Livi, isn’t good enough to play for the champions of Scotland, and he continued that theme whilst adding two more players to the list.

Chris Sutton critical of Viljami Sinisalo, Anthony Ralston and Johnny Kenny
The surprising team news against Livingston was Kasper Schmeichel’s absence because of injury, and Viljami Sinisalo coming into the XI.
There have been calls for Sinisalo to start for Celtic because of Schmeichel’s poor form, but Sutton thinks the former ‘didn’t cover himself in glory.’
Speaking on The Warm-Up, Sutton also called out Anthony Ralston and how he is ‘really struggling’ in his right-sided defensive role.
“A lot of noise surrounding Sinisalo because of Kasper Schmeichel’s poor form this season,” said Sutton. “I don’t think he covered himself in glory.
“I still see the same old issues at Celtic. I think there are players who are starting, and who have started regularly under Wilfried Nancy, who shouldn’t be starting. They aren’t good enough to start. Hence why January is a big month.
“Anthony Ralston is really struggling in that right side of the defence.
“Johnny Kenny, I don’t think he would get a starting berth in virtually any team in the top-flight. I just don’t think he is good enough.”

Sutton’s mixed views on Celtic’s style under Wilfried Nancy
One thing supporters can’t deny is the fact that Nancy’s style is entertaining everyone.
That’s why Sutton has the viewpoint that, on some occasions, he can see the Hoops putting teams away for fun, but also still being on the receiving end of defeats.
“In my mind, with every week which passes, I can see Celtic absolutely smashing some teams,” said Sutton.
“On the flip side of that, I can see Celtic losing a fair few games under Wilfried Nancy. Unless things change in January.”
