This could prove to be a costly weekend for Celtic in the race to win the Premiership title.

On Saturday, Premiership leaders Hearts picked up a crucial 1-0 win over Falkirk to put the pressure on Celtic, who buckled under the pressure 24 hours later by losing to Hibernian at Parkhead.

Chris Sutton stated that he now ‘fears’ Martin O’Neill’s side will end up finishing fourth in the table, with in-form Motherwell breathing down their neck, and playing the best football in the league.

If that happens, then it will sum up what a dismal campaign it has been for Celtic, who don’t have much to argue about because they have been woeful since day one.

Rate Celtic’s performance against Hibernian out of ten…

What would be your message to the Celtic players?

How Chris Sutton reacted to Celtic’s defeat to Hibernian

Sutton was on commentary duty for Sky Sports to watch Rangers record a point against ten-man Livingston, so he wouldn’t have watched the match at Parkhead.

But as soon as Sutton saw Celtic’s result against Hibernian, he kept it pretty simple in what he thought, and not many people can argue against it.

‘Celtic could finish 4th, I fear…’ wrote Sutton on social media.

Celtic and Motherwell’s upcoming matches?

Motherwell have got their flowers for how they have performed this season, and it has even seen their manager, Jens Berthel Askou, being linked with Celtic.

But it’s crazy that the champions of Scotland are in such a situation that finishing fourth is being discussed.

It never rains at Celtic Park, but it pours, and that’s happening here.
