Brendan Rodgers has some big calls to make with his Celtic squad in the summer.
Celtic are on course for the Treble, and after what they did to Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Wednesday night in the Premiership, then it’s only the champions who can stop themselves now from securing ultimate domestic glory.
Despite making eight changes from the weekend win over Hibernian, Celtic thrashed Aberdeen 5-1, with goals from Maik Nawrocki, Hyunjun Yang, Luke McCowan, Johnny Kenny and Adam Idah.
These are supposedly Celtic’s back-up players; some haven’t done much wrong to remain on the bench, yet they never look out of place when handed a chance.
And, when you perform in such a manner against a side pushing for third spot in the Premiership table, then it’s going to be interesting to see what happens with them in the summer, especially Nawrocki.

Maik Nawrocki could be ‘growing’ on Brendan Rodgers after Celtic thrashed Aberdeen
With Cameron Carter-Vickers injured and Liam Scales on the bench, Nawrocki was handed another start by his manager.
Put aside his goal for a minute, the Poland star’s general play was lauded by Chris Sutton, including how he has ‘impressed’ every time he has been given a chance.
Added to that, Sutton feels that the 24-year-old could be ‘growing’ on Rodgers because of his performances, as he told Sky Sports Football (14/05/25).
“It’s a tremendous header,” said Sutton about Nawrocki’s goal. “Nawrocki just bullies Keskinen. He says ‘get out of the way’. Reads the flight of the ball brilliantly. The header is sensational. It really is. Powered into the corner.
“He has impressed this season, Nawrocki. Out in the cold, but when he has come in, he has done alright. Sensational header.
“I wonder whether he is one of those players who is growing on Brendan Rodgers.”
Nawrocki’s ratings in all his starts for Celtic this season
Only three starts for Nawrocki this season, and all of them coming in the Premiership, including in the Glasgow derby in March.
Remember, Celtic paid nearly £5 million for this player, yet during his time at the club, he has only played 18 matches since the summer of 2023.
You then question, what is he doing wrong? Because, every time he takes to the field of play, fans love what they see from Nawrocki.
