Chris Sutton has hailed Martin O’Neill’s half-time rally after Celtic fought back from 2-0 down at Rangers to rescue a valuable title point inside Ibrox.
O’Neill admitted he ‘questioned’ his Celtic starting XI after he watched his Bhoys capitulate in 35 first-half minutes that saw Rangers take a two-goal lead at the break.
However, goals from Kieran Tierney and a late Reo Hatate penalty saw Celtic draw at Rangers to keep their title hopes alive as Sutton praised the Hoops boss and the spot-kick scorer for their part in the Ibrox result.

WHAT. A. COMEBACK.
Sutton hails Reo Hatate after Celtic’s ‘top player’ controlled Rangers
Hatate came on as a second-half substitute and, in all honesty, the Japan midfielder changed the game, and Sutton was quick to highlight his part in Celtic’s fightback.
Sutton said on X, “A game of two halves!! Extraordinary game.
“Reo Hatate may have sulked all season but he showed what a top player he can be. Outstanding performance and he gave Celtic control.
“Fair play to him. Martin pro-active with his subs and that was key. Great recovery from Celtic.”
Celtic now have Aberdeen up next as Martin O’Neill has the chance to leapfrog Rangers into second place in the Scottish Premiership table.
If the Celtic boss can manage a win at Pittodrie then it could be Rangers who could find themselves in fourth place by the time the Scottish Premiership fixtures resume for both Glasgow clubs in two week’s time.
