Chris Sutton didn’t hold back as he delivered his verdict over Celtic’s big win over Aberdeen at Parkhead.

The pressure on Wilfried Nancy heading into the game was immense as the Celtic manager looked for his first win since his arrival in Glasgow.

Celtic beat Aberdeen in what ended up as a convincing 3-1 scoreline after late goals from Kieran Tierney and James Forrest sealed the win.

However, when Aberdeen equalised, Celtic fans must have thought Nancy’s luck was running out again when chance after chance was spurned when the score was at just 1-0.

Reacting to the 3-1 result, Chris Sutton delivered his verdict as he defended Nancy for Celtic’s poor finishing.

Chris Sutton says Celtic’s poor finishing vs Aberdeen is ‘not on’ Wilfried Nancy

Celtic had an incredible 31 shots on goal, 10 on target and missed four big chances to bury Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

And Sutton says that the Hoops’ inability to take their chances should not be put on the Celtic boss.

Sutton said on X, “I don’t agree with everything Wilf has done and wasn’t at Celtic Park today but it sounds like loads of chances missed once again.

“Celtic’s greatest issue has not being able to create and convert and that’s not on Wilf… he has got what he’s got and it’s not top drawer.”

Johnny Kenny’s stats as Celtic show attacking intent

Johnny Kenny was given the nod to lead Celtic’s line against Aberdeen but despite all the chances Nancy’s team created, the Irishman couldn’t find his elusive goal.

Here are the Celtic striker’s stats according to Fotmob:

It wasn’t a bad performance by Kenny but for a Celtic striker not to convert the chances he’s missed over Celtic’s last five games, fans are yet to be convinced he has what it takes to become the first-choice striker at the club.
