When it gets difficult at Celtic, you need a lot of mental strength to deal with the pressure and noise that comes with it.
The Celtic players, as well as manager Brendan Rodgers, will be feeling that right now, especially someone like Hyunjun Yang.
On Sunday, Celtic were beaten 2-0 by Dundee, as the players and anybody associated with the club can have no complaints.
Rodgers opted to start Yang, with Daizen Maeda missing through injury, but he was hooked off at half-time alongside Anthony Ralston.

Chris Sutton slams Hyunjun Yang during Celtic’s defeat to Dundee
Before Rodgers could take Yang off, Chris Sutton was screaming on Sky Sports for the 23-year-old to be taken off.
The former striker stated that he ‘doesn’t understand’ why Celtic’s most decorated player of all-time, James Forrest, is on the bench and Yang is starting.
Sutton pointed towards the right flank of Celtic, and how it has been a problem area this term.
“Dundee’s backline is quite high at times; they are trying to keep nice and compact,” said Sutton.
“He has to take Yang off. I mean, down the right-hand side, Celtic, this season, they just haven’t offered enough.
“I don’t understand the decision to start Yang in front of James Forrest. We know he is getting on a bit, but you know what he is going to do. I don’t think Yang knows what he is going to do with the ball himself.
“He gives players the ball when he is finished with it. Just get him off.”
Yang’s career numbers for Celtic
It’s not a good look for Yang, who only has one goal to his name this season, and that came in the League Cup against a Championship side.
As an attacking player for Celtic, you should be scoring and creating goals for fun. But Yang hasn’t shown it during his time in Glasgow.
The fact that Yang is yet to hit double figures, in goals or assists, for Celtic since joining in 2023 is alarming and rather worrying.
- Yang’s games for Celtic: 74
- Starts: 30
- Off the bench: 44
- Unused substitute: 27
- Goals: 8
- Assists: 9
- Total minutes: 3,067
