Danny Rohl has branded Celtic ‘lucky’ after the Rangers boss reacted to watching his team lose a 2-0 lead as the Hoops superbly fought back for a draw inside Ibrox.
The Rangers boss watched Celtic pummel Rangers in the second half after the Bhoys’ meek first-half performance allowed Rohl’s team to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
However, a spirited fightback after Martin O’Neill made changes for Celtic at half time, meant a 2-2 draw was the end result after VAR awarded a penalty for handball as Rohl gave a mixed reaction to the spot kick award.

Danny Rohl’s penalty tears as Celtic snatch draw at Rangers
Reo Hatate was the man who stepped up for Celtic as the underfire Japanese star took three attempts to convert the penalty, as Rohl cried about the distance between the ball and Dujon Sterling’s arm.
Rohl said on BBC Radio Scotland, “I think VAR, if they make the decision. I think it’s always tough late in such a game to make such a decision.
“I think there’s a header from, I don’t know how big is the distance, 10 centimetres, or something like this, I think you cannot really react.
“For me, it’s not about this. I think in general last week there was a big foul on us, very late in the game, and there was no consequence.
“Today there’s a consequence against us. But we should play over 90 minutes a good game, then we have not this problem.”

Celtic came out the traps in the second half and could have, in all honesty, won the game in the dying minutes.
However, despite that, Rohl branded the Bhoys ‘lucky’ despite the handball being absolutely clear on the VAR monitor.
Speaking further on the BBC website, the Ibrox boss continued, “Finally, it’s a draw. It’s always a little bit lucky for a team to get a late pen.
“This is normal, I would say it’s the same when we get a pen late in the game. It’s about the next game and we have to move on.
“We go again. We’ll try next week in the cup game again a good performance and hopefully we can keep our performance over 90 minutes.”
Strangely, it could be Rangers who move into third place this week if Celtic beat Aberdeen on Wednesday night, which is a far cry from the narrative Hoops fans have been hearing all week about Motherwell overtaking O’Neill in the league table.
