Celtic’s Scottish Cup win against Rangers was celebrated by all across the world, including Dublin airport.

The Hoops beat Rangers on penalties in dramatic circumstances that were overshadowed by both sets of fans running onto the pitch at full-time.

James Tavernier and Djeidi Gassama both missed from 12 yards and in the spirit of things, Dublin airport decided to poke the bear a little bit more.

Dublin airport tweet mocking Rangers goes viral

Martin O’Neill’s side won without having a shot on target over 120 minutes, but the story of the afternoon was the two shots not on target that cost Rangers.

Gassama’s penalty went sky high and the airport couldn’t resist a cheeky jibe at Danny Rohl’s side.

Posting on X, they wrote: “Our FOD team just recovered two ‘RFC’ footballs from beside our north runway – they landed just after 3.30pm and came in from Glasgow direction.”

Celtic have an excellent record in penalty shootouts against Rangers and have only lost once from the four occasions.

Celtic have one more chance to ruin Rangers’ season

That was the fifth meeting between the two teams this season, but there will still be one more before the season ends in May.

The post-split fixtures will throw up a game at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership, which could have a huge impact on the title race.

Whoever wins that game will almost certainly miss out on winning the league title, especially with Hearts still at the top of the table and in the mix.

Rohl is a man on the edge, and a win for O’Neill would only add to the agony he has had to experience.
