Even MLS pundit Taylor Twellman cannot defend Wilfried Nancy at Celtic with brutal analysis

It seems as though Celtic have decided against pulling the trigger on Wilfried Nancy.

As things stand, Nancy will take charge of Celtic’s home clash against Dundee United on Saturday afternoon after losing six of his eight games in charge.

Just because Nancy is still in the Celtic dugout, it doesn’t mean he is immune to criticism because he is getting it from all quarters, including from the United States.

Nancy arrived from the MLS after his stellar work at Columbus Crew, and a lot of pundits Stateside were excited to see what he could do in Glasgow, but even now, they are seeing the writing on the wall for the under-fire Celtic manager.

If Wilfried Nancy was to be sacked, who would you want to become the next Celtic manager?

Taylor Twellman slams Celtic’s defending and Auston Trusty

Taylor Twellman watched Celtic’s defeat to Rangers on Saturday unfold, and he couldn’t believe what he was seeing from a defensive aspect.

The former USMNT international slammed fellow countryman Auston Trusty for his defending, as well as Celtic’s finishing ‘killing Nancy’, as he wrote on social media.

‘Brutal defending from Celtic and especially Trusty,’ wrote Twellman.

‘Rangers take advantage. All the possession and aggressive play, but the lack of finishing is killing Nancy’s impact. Defending has been shocking.’

Twellman on Wilfried Nancy not adjusting at Celtic

Before Nancy arrived, everyone warned about this situation and how changing the system, to a back three, during such a short period of time and with very little training, was going to harm Celtic.

Nancy didn’t listen and changed it all. It has proven to be very costly, as Twellman slammed the Frenchman for not adjusting his style of play, as he thinks his time could be up.

‘Martin O’Neill won 6 of 7 games in charge,’ added Twellman. ‘The board decides to introduce Nancy before the transfer window and introduce 180° different way of playing.

‘Players were not good enough, as evident by the xG “missed chances”, BUT Nancy didn’t adjust his style at all and gave up goals at ease. You are judged by wins and losses at Celtic before the style of play. Simple as that and he’s lost 6 of 8!!!!!’
