Celtic fans knew very little about Wilfried Nancy when his name was being touted for the manager’s job at Parkhead.

Given Nancy’s success in the MLS, Celtic fans were eager to pick the brains of pundits and former players Stateside, who had watched and knew far more about the upcoming coach.

There were high hopes in the MLS about Nancy and the steps he could take in his managerial career, as he tried to tackle the champions of Scotland.

But fast forward to the present, and even those in the United States know that Nancy’s time is up in Glasgow, as Stuart Holden alluded to.

If Wilfried Nancy was to be sacked, who would you want to become the next Celtic manager?

Stuart Holden thinks it’s the end of the road for Wilfried Nancy at Celtic

The worst thing for Nancy is the fact that there was a lot of negative noise heading into the Glasgow derby, and many wanted him gone after the Motherwell defeat.

Former Bolton player and USMNT international Stuart Holden provided no defence of Nancy, and thinks there is ‘no coming back’ from Celtic’s defeat to Rangers, as he shared on social media.

‘Wilfried Nancy looks like he’s coaching (coached) his last game in charge at Celtic,’ wrote Holden. ‘Down 3-1 at home vs Rangers — with the start he’s had, there’s no coming back from that.’

Nancy’s record at Celtic so far…

Yes, Celtic were abject under Brendan Rodgers, and it was probably right for him to move on, but Nancy didn’t take over after that Hearts defeat at Tynecastle in October.

The Frenchman took charge of a side that had been playing poorly this season, but their morale was at an all-time high because of Martin O’Neill.

And now it’s rock-bottom, as the stats under Nancy don’t make great reading at all.
