All eyes will be on Glasgow ahead of Celtic’s trip to Rangers.
This has been a dominant fixture for Celtic, as Brendan Rodgers has only lost once against Rangers during his two spells with the Scottish giants.
If the champions win at Ibrox, then Celtic will go 17 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Premiership table to further prove how they are walking towards another league title.
The game at Hampden last month was one the neutral supporter would have enjoyed because it’s everything you can ask for in a hostile derby game.
Six goals, extra-time and a penalty shootout. But, in the end, it was the same winning feeling for the Bhoys and further humiliation for those in Rangers colours.
Ahead of Celtic’s trip to Ibrox on Thursday, Gabby Agbonlahor and Alan Brazil discussed the game.
Gabby Agbonlahor notes Celtic’s dominance over Rangers
Agbonlahor will see Celtic in action at Villa Park on January 29 when the champions of Scotland make the trip to the Midlands for a mouthwatering Champions League clash.
The former Aston Villa striker will firmly have his claret and blue glasses on then, but ahead of Celtic’s trip to Rangers, he is watching it from a neutral perspective.
Agbonlahor admitted that he is ‘looking forward’ to the match and expressed how much he enjoyed the Hampden thriller, as he told talkSPORT (02/01/25 at 6:10 am).
But he did warn that Celtic’s dominance in the Glasgow derby is probably resulting in the neutral fan turning away because it’s one-sided every time.
“What about the game today,” asked Agbonlahor. Brazil responded: “If it was on Friday, I would worry (referring to the weather), but it’s a big game.”
Agbonlahor added: “I am looking forward to it.” Brazil then stated: “If Ally (McCoist) is back, then he will be there today and it’s a must-win. I am just reading the back pages. ‘Celtic captain Callum McGregor wants to turn Ibrox into a toxic horror show for Rangers’.”
Agbonlahor then shared: “I watched the cup final. I was watching it and I was thinking, ‘that’s more like it’. That’s what makes the neutral want to watch that game. If they continue how they are against Celtic and Celtic continue to win every one. Does the neutral eye come off that tie? That’s the problem you have got. Rangers need to turn up today, have a good go and a bit of pride.”

Brendan Rodgers’ record for Celtic against Rangers
One man who has epitomised Celtic winning time after time against Rangers is Rodgers himself, who has wiped the floor during his two spells in charge.
Whether it’s the embarrassment of Pedro Caixinha in the dugout or Philippe Clement, most of the time, there is only one result and that’s a Celtic win.
And Rodgers, who only has been beaten once in this fixture, will be looking to maintain that near-flawless record and see off another Rangers boss.
