What we spotted from Celtic’s final training session before Rangers clash

We are now less than 24 hours away from Celtic’s clash with Rangers at Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers may have taken a step back from coaching but his staff put the squad through their paces on the Lennoxtown training pitch this afternoon.

Victory over Gers on their own patch is always a sweet three points and it would take the Hoops 17 clear of their rivals in the Scottish Premiership table.

That could signal the end of the road for Philippe Clement who was called “lucky” for his next match being Celts as it might just have saved his job following two miserable results in a row.

Still, that is not anything for Celtic to concern themselves with as they endured the torrid weather in Glasgow earlier today.

Some fringe players were in action alongside the big-hitters at Celtic we can expect to start against Rangers tomorrow.

So here’s what 67 Hail Hail spotted from training a few hours removed from the massive derby.

Celtic starting XI hint?

Rodgers is not a fan of his starters leaking, but has Celtic TV accidentally just done it for him?

There is a brief moment from the short clip of training posted on the YouTube channel where 10 outfield players can be spotted in the same training gear and jackets doing the cone rounds.

Among the group are the major stars including Nicolas Kuhn, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate and Arne Engels.

Curiously it’s Alex Valle and Liam Scales in with them, might that be Rodgers‘ squad for the game? Time will tell.

Outcasts still training at Lennoxtown

Maik Nawrocki could leave the club this month having been shuffled to the back of the line in terms of the centre-half pecking order.

Polish clubs have been linked with the big man but it remains to be seen whether or not there will be real offers on the table.

He was still in training with the whole squad, though interestingly he found himself with the younger players including the likes of Adam Montgomery.

Stephen Welsh is leaving for KV Mechelen but until he does, he is still in with the team.

Full strength Celtic team

Rodgers confirmed only James Forrest is missing for the Rangers game and previously injured players were back in full force.

Ali Johnston appears to have no problems anymore while Auston Trusty was captured on camera running the drills comfortably, too.

A wild Odin Thiago Holm spotted

The Norwegian has been missing for some time from the matchday squad at Celtic and it’s highly unlikely he’ll be involved tomorrow.

Holm has loan interest from LAFC and he could leave this month.

Still, it was nice to see the playmaker, 22, take part.

No weather bravery here

Perhaps it is a thing of the past with Kieran Tierney and Scott Brown members of a bygone era.

The pair would often sport only a training jersey in the wind, sleet or snow but that appears to be finished now.

Every player on the training pitch had their jackets on, hoods up, gloves on and snoods. Can hardly blame them!

Save the bravery for the game, Bhoys.
