Celtic cruised to a 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie yesterday and Kieran Tierney was outstanding once again.
The Hoops left-back was a constant threat down the Pittodrie right flank as Tierney produced a great performance to help Celtic beat Aberdeen.
Tierney gave Aberdeen full-back Alexander Jensen a tough afternoon and the Danish defender must have been delighted to see the Celtic defender get substituted in the 67th minute.
And speaking post match, Brendan Rodgers cleared up why Tierney was taken off as he started to fade in the final 45 minutes of Celtic’s Pittodrie win.

Kieran Tierney was ‘sick at half-time’ as Celtic beat Aberdeen
Rodgers was asked how Tierney was doing after he was taken off for the second week in a row and the Celtic manager moved to allay any injury fears over his marquee summer signing.
Rodgers told BBC Sportsound [14m 20s], “Well, to be fair, he was actually sick at half time, so, but he wanted to give it a go.
“I think it drained him a little bit, and then a little bit of cramp set in. But he’s given us a really good hour in the game, created the first goal, and we know that it’s just about building his football fitness up.
“And you can really see the qualities that he gives the team.”
Kieran Tierney’s Celtic stats vs Aberdeen are frightening and he’s not fully fit
Tierney was excellent as he delivered another assist at Pittodrie as the Celtic defender shows his class for the second week in a row.
Rated 7.9 by Fotmob, Tierney was one of the best players on the park and considering he’s not fully fit, his stats in the Celtic win are frightening:
- Minutes played: 67
- Assists: 1
- Total shots: 1
- Accurate passes: 32/43 (74%)
- Chances created: 2
- Touches: 63

Another great performance by Tierney as the former Arsenal man continues to settle in at Celtic after his big summer move.
