Hugh Keevins reckons it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Celtic batter St Johnstone 8-0 on Sunday in the Scottish Cup.
Celtic beat Hibs 2-0 at the quarter-final stage of the competition in March to seal progression to the semi-finals at Hampden Park.
The Hoops will face a struggling St Johnstone side who are fighting for their lives to remain in the Premiership next season.

However, only two weeks ago, the Perth Saints stunned Celtic with a 1-0 victory at McDiarmid Park as Brendan Rodgers fumed at his underperforming players after the game.
The Bhoys bounced back emphatically against Kilmarnock the following weekend as they scored four goals inside the first 24 minutes of play, eventually securing a 5-1 win.

Hugh Keevins makes Celtic vs St Johnstone scoreline claim
Keevins made it clear on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard that Celtic were in a ruthless mood against Killie and suggested that St Johnstone could suffer an even more brutal fate at the national stadium.
A Celtic fan caller initially suggested his team will thump St Johnstone 8-0, which Keevins believes isn’t impossible for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
However, he did backpedal slightly by locking in a 5-0 prediction.
Hugh Keevins: “Well when you think of Celtic last weekend, they were 4-0 up after 20 minutes against a Kilmarnock team who are arguably better than St Johnstone, if only in league placing. So I don’t think 8-0 is an impossibility.”
Gordon Duncan: “Are we seriously going to predict 8-0?”
Hugh Keevins: “Nah, I think it will be 5-0.”
Scott Allan: “The first-half last weekend was incredible.”
Celtic’s biggest wins of all-time
There’s no doubt Celtic were in ferocious form last Saturday against a sorry Kilmarnock team who themselves are nowhere near safe from relegation this season.
At 4-0 after 24 minutes, it looked like a cricket score was incoming. However, Celtic eased off in second-half coupled by Kilmarnock’s more resolute defending.
You’d think an 8-0 win against St Johnstone on Sunday would rank at least in the top five of Celtic’s biggest ever wins – but you would be wrong.
It would match Celtic’s highest ever scoreline in the Scottish Cup, as that was also an 8-0 win over Cowlairs in September 1888.
But it wouldn’t even get into the all-time top six, with those scorelines all featuring a mammoth nine-goal margin. Here are Celtic’s biggest wins across their history:
- 6) Celtic 11-2 Shettleston (1888)
- 5) Dundee United 0-9 Celtic (2022)
- 4) Celtic 9-0 Aberdeen (2010)
- 3) Celtic 9-0 KPV Kokkola (1970)
- 2) Celtic 10-0 Hamilton Academical (1968)
- 1) Celtic 11-0 Dundee (1895)
