Celtic are back in action for the first time this season as they face Queen’s Park.

Following a successful 2024/25 campaign that saw Celtic win a domestic double, Brendan Rodgers will hope to repeat that, and go one better by winning a Treble.

The 2025/26 pre-season games begin tonight and as expected, there are some new faces in the squad alongside the regulars like Callum McGregor and Arne Engels.

Among the starters and substitutes are a number of youngsters. Some of them are names you may have heard of already but if not, here is a brief rundown of the new names in the side.

The 15 youngsters playing in Queen’s Park vs Celtic

Colby Donovan

Colby Donovan has had experience with the first team before and was on the club’s 2024 pre-season tour of the US.

Donovan has earned plenty of praise for his performances with the Celtic B team and will be one to keep an eye out for today.

Mitchel Frame

Mitchell Frame has already had a taste of senior competitive football after making his professional debut in the Champions League win against Feyenoord.

A regular in the squad for Celtic B, Frame has Kieran Tierney as his mentor and should he impress in pre-season, could even get himself promoted to become the first-team backup.

Jude Bonnar

Jude Bonnar has been able to build his way up through the Celtic ranks and first made his mark on the B team in the 2023/24 season.

The youngster is versatile and can operate as a midfielder or wide attacker – the latter being the role he will play today.

Tobi Oluwayemi

Tobi Oluwayemi has been a regular since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2019, regularly deputising in goal during the UEFA Youth League campaign.

Now 22, this feels like his last big chance to force himself into the club’s plans.

Josh Clarke

Josh Clarke spent last season out on loan at Ayr and will be hoping to get more first team exposure elsewhere, however, a chance with the Hoops’ first team tonight will be a welcome opportunity.

Ben McPherson

Ben McPherson is well known to the Queen’s Park side after spending the 2023/24 season on loan there. He’s been part of the club’s first team pre-season fixtures before and spent last season working his way back from an injury.

Mitchell Robertson

Mitchell Robertson has been the captain of the Celtic B team and led Stephen McManus’ side to plenty of success.

He has a wise head on young shoulders and is likely to fancy his chances of challenging his teammates to become Cameron Carter-Vickers’ central defensive partner in the future.

Andrew Kyle

Andrew Kyle enjoyed his first full season as a Celtic B player last season and will want to impress this pre-season to continue his rise through the ranks.

Ben Summers

Ben Summers has been given a handful of chances in the first team in the past, largely off the bench, but at 21, will feel like he needs to kick on.

Kyle Ure

Last year’s academy player of the year, Kyle Ure is one of the most exciting names in the squad and definitely one to watch for the future.

Ure is outstanding to watch technically and can unlock a defence at any moment.

Sean McArdle

Sean McArdle was handed his senior debut by Rodgers last season, impressing sections of the Celtic fanbase.

There will be hopes that we get to see more of him this campaign.

Thomas Hatton

Promoted to the Celtic B team, the midfielder will get one of his first chances of senior football and is around a group of senior professionals that will make life at ease for him.

Francis Turley

Francis Turley made one league appearance and got on the scoresheet for Celtic in last year’s win away at Queen’s Park.

Turley is a hot prospect in the younger ranks and may get more first team chances this season.

Samuel Isiguzo

Samuel Isiguzo was a prolific goal scorer last season and was given a chance by Rodgers in the mid-season friendly against Sligo Rovers last season.

Isiguzo will see that the competition for strikers is wide open this summer and have his eyes on forcing his way into the first team plans.

Kayden Daly

The youngest name in the squad, Kayden Daly is one of seven Celtic youngsters to sign a professional deal and has been rewarded by the Celtic manager with a chance to be involved with the first team.

A great moment for him.
