Perhaps Celtic need to look closer to home for their much-needed striker.
Don’t get it wrong, Celtic should be doing everything in their power to sign a number nine via the January transfer window.
But surely, with all this talk, including from Martin O’Neill, about the Hoops needing a regular goalscorer, this should be a kick up the backside for Johnny Kenny.
Kenny scored for Celtic against Auchinleck Talbot in the Scottish Cup over the weekend, and whilst it’s nothing to sing and dance about, at least he hasn’t harmed himself like Michel-Ange Balikwisha.

Neil Lennon on Johnny Kenny’s issue as a striker for Celtic
Neil Lennon was in attendance at Rugby Park to watch Kenny in action, and he thinks there is ‘more to come’ from the player.
Speaking on Premier Sports, Lennon explained how there is a ‘raw’ element to the Irishman’s game, which he needs to ‘polish off’, as soon as possible.
“It was a brilliant finish against Auchinleck Talbot,” said Lennon.
“Kenny, he looks like a striker, but he is raw, and he has to polish off a lot of his game. He sniffs out chances, as we saw against Auchinleck Talbot.
“He has that in him, but there is still more to come from him.”

You do sympathise with Kenny in the sense that, during the time he gets to play for Celtic, the club is in a world of mess on and off the field.
It’s not like the champions of Scotland are creating chances galore, so once again, not helpful to someone like Kenny.
