With the new Premiership season around the corner, the Celtic supporters are demanding a lot more from the summer transfer market.
It’s fair to say that it has been a rather underwhelming window so far, but you can only properly judge it all when the 2025 summer transfer window slams shut on September 1.
In total, Celtic have signed seven players for the new Premiership campaign, with many of them being project-like signings or inexperienced stars.
Bearing that in mind, you would presume that Kieran Tierney has been the standout signing after his return to his boyhood club from Arsenal.
But another name was thrown into the ring over the weekend.

Shin Yamada dubbed ‘headline-grabber’ at Celtic ahead of Kieran Tierney
Celtic beat Al-Ahli on penalties to secure third spot in the Como Cup on Saturday evening, and it was also the first time the supporters got to see Shin Yamada in action.
Yamada performed very well during his 45 minutes on the pitch, but he was dubbed the ‘headline-grabbing’ transfer so far for Celtic this summer on CBS Sports (26/07/25).
CBS Sports commentator: “It is the start for Shin Yamada. It has been a long wait for the headline-grabbing transfer of this summer so far for Celtic. But he received international clearance in the last day or so.
“This was a much-changed XI from Brendan Rodgers after the capitulation against Ajax the other day.”
Celtic’s 2025 summer signings ranked
The Celtic Park faithful are hoping that there are plenty more new faces to come, but how would the current new signings rank?
Whilst CBS put Yamada top of the list, 67 Hail Hail disagrees, because there is only one obvious man who should be sitting at the top.
- Kieran Tierney
- Benjamin Nygren
- Hayato Inamura
- Shin Yamada
- Ross Doohan
- Callum Osmand
- Isaac English
