Another Glasgow derby and another game you question what on earth Celtic were doing.
That was woeful of the highest order and Celtic deserved to get beaten by Rangers, including suffering their first Premiership defeat on home soil this season.
What’s ever worse is that, for the third Glasgow derby running, Brendan Rodgers has watched his team concede three goals to Rangers.
The only plus from that is Celtic beat Rangers in the League Cup final at Hampden in December, so in the game that mattered most, they survived and got through it.
You can’t say that for the latest showing at Celtic Park, including being 2-0 down at the break, and it could have possibly been more.
Before a ball was kicked, only Aberdeen had scored against the champions in the league – three goals in total – and now a Barry Ferguson-led side has matched that inside 90 minutes.
Here at 67 Hail Hail, we take a look at the three losers and one winner from Celtic’s showing.

Nicolas Kuhn, Arne Engels and Kasper Schmeichel have games to forget
Arne Engels – With Callum McGregor absent through injury, it meant that Engels dropped into that number six role and Luke McCowan came into the XI.
It’s fair to say that he struggled to control the match and was anonymous during many moments of the game as Rangers pressed Celtic into submission.
Kasper Schmeichel – Everyone knows how Rodgers likes to play. The team will be patient on the ball and invite the press, as they play out from the back.
But, time and time again, the man in between Celtic’s sticks was handing stuff on the plate to the opposition, including a ball straight at Vaclav Cerny in the first half, but for some odd reason, he didn’t shoot into an empty net.
| Passes | PA% | Accurate Long Balls | Saves | Saves from inside the box | Rating |
| 41 | 85.4 | 8/13 | 3 | 1 | 6.09 |
Nicolas Kuhn – Not so long ago, Kuhn was pushing to be Player of the Year, but he has now fallen off a cliff since the turn of the year.
The German was rightfully hooked off at the break and he had no complaints because he played like he was scared to try and beat his opponent, as WhoScored rated his performance at 6.11.
| Shot | Key Passes | Dribbles | UnsTouches | Passes | PA% | Rating |
| 0 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 17 | 70.6 | 6.11 |
Maik Nawrocki can hold his head up high
If there is a positive from the match, then it’s Nawrocki’s performance because he was the only one in the backline who was coping and dealing with Rangers’ threat.
He has only played 23 minutes of football this term, but you wouldn’t have thought it based off his performance.
Nawrocki’s last-ditch block to deny Cerny following Schmeichel’s mistake was just one of many great defensive moments from the player. He didn’t deserve to concede the three goals.
