Martin O’Neill says that Tomas Cvancara took the ball off of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Celtic’s penalty against Motherwell.
Nevertheless, the striker showed ‘confidence’ to put Celtic in front, taking advantage of a vital opportunity in a tight game.
Cvancara scored the decisive kick at Ibrox in last week’s shootout, but had been without a goal since February 1st.
But his goal allowed the Hoops to survive the Motherwell test with a 3-1 win.

Who impressed you for Celtic against Motherwell?
Celtic boss Martin O’Neill on Tomas Cvancara
Speaking about the Czech international after the game, O’Neill said: “I think he took the ball off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, believe it or not.
“So that was big, because that’s everything riding on the game.

“He took the penalty, obviously had a bit of confidence from scoring on Sunday. But it was a big moment, because like a lot of us, we still have to win the crowd over.
“So he took it, and that’s well done to him. They helped make the goal for Yang, the last goal, which gives you a bit of a cushion.
“Yeah, I can’t really do anything [about Hearts’ game against Kilmarnock], that’s not in our control.
“But today, I thought we played great, especially the second half, and really got at them. Up until Yang scored, I thought the game was still in the balance.”
Has Tomas Cvancara done enough to convince you that he deserves a permanent contract?
Tell me why…
Cvancara joined Celtic on loan with an option to buy from Borussia Monchengladbach in January, adding a much-needed striker to O’Neill’s squad.
The 25-year-old has struggled for consistency with his all-round performances, but playing vital roles in two consecutive wins will do his confidence the world of good.
He hasn’t started for Celtic since the 2-1 defeat to Hibs last month.
