Celtic’s Europa League win over Stuttgart appears to have rattled the German Bundesliga side as Alexander Nubel shares how his teammates felt during the game.
Martin O’Neill recorded Celtic’s first-ever win on German soil as the Hoops beat Stuttgart 1-0 to exit the Europa League in a blaze of glory.
The Celtic boss was delighted with his team’s performance but in total contrast, Stuttgart’s Alexander Nubel has shared how his teammates really felt after Luke McCowan fired the Hoops into an early lead.

Nubel told Stuttgarter Nachrichten, “The defeat is frustrating, even though we achieved our goal. After conceding the very early goal, there was a certain nervousness, but we recovered and largely kept the game under control.”

Alexander Nubel gutted at missed chances vs Celtic
Celtic put in a sterling performance but the Hoops stood firm to put in a defensive masterclass to cap off the win in Stuttgart.
And Nubel admits it was tough to not take any of their chances.
The Stuttgart keeper continued, “Especially in the second half, we created many chances – unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalise on them. The most important thing after the playoffs is that we’re in the round of 16.
“We’ll be watching the draw with great interest: both Porto and Braga are good teams, and we’re looking forward to it.”
Now that the Europa League distraction is over for Celtic, all eyes turn to the Glasgow Derby against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.
With Danny Rohl appearing rattled ahead of Celtic’s visit, has the pressure already gotten to the Rangers boss with the title so close and on the line?
