Celtic play their final league game of the season against St Mirren.
Stephen Robinson is hoping to spoil Celtic’s trophy day party as they prepare to lift the Scottish Premiership title in front of 60,000 fans.
James Forrest will walk out with the trophy after becoming Celtic’s most decorated player of all time having won 26 major honours.
Not every player will get a winners’ medal though after failing to reach the threshold for the number of games required to get a medal.
It could also be an emotional farewell for Greg Taylor, who could be playing his last game at Parkhead.
There will also be a slight change to the kit that the Bhoys wear when they walk out at 12:30PM.
Celtic to mark National Famine Commemoration Day
As part of their tributes to National Famine Commemoration Day, Celtic will wear a kit that features the Celtic Cross logo.
In a statement on the website, they said: “As we look ahead to another Trophy Day at Paradise on Saturday (May 17), we are delighted to confirm that Celtic will be proudly sporting the club’s Celtic Cross logo once again to mark National Famine Commemoration Day, which takes place on that day.
“With the links to the Irish community dating back to the formation of Celtic Football Club, we fully recognise the immense tragedy of The Great Hunger (An Gorta Mor) and the importance of remembering the effects this had on so many people.”
The club have also confirmed they will auction off the shirts worn by the players on the club’s charity eBay account.
Bidding will go live at 5pm on Tuesday, May 20 and will close around 5pm on Tuesday, May 27.
Will Celtic be wearing the new kit today?
Celtic have already confirmed what the 25/26 season shirt will look like as the Bhoys look ahead to kicking off a new campaign.
Fans were impressed by the Celtic home shirt and it’s expected to be purchased worldwide.
Already released, the shirt can be purchased on the club’s website, but the players won’t debut it today.
