The pressure on Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy has just cranked up after the Premier Sports Cup final defeat to St Mirren.
Before this day unravels, let’s make no mistake here, St Mirren deserved to beat Celtic on the day and there are no excuses for that abject performance.
The shambolic defending was matched only by the pathetic overall performance as Celtic looked out of ideas after Kelechi Iheanacho was taken off injured just before half time.

And for a team full of international players, that does not bode well for the rest of the season. Celtic looked chaotic in defence and clueless in attack and the midfield was something in between.
And as fans rage at the last three results, Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy sends the Parkhead support a defiant message after the embarrassing defeat to St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup final.

Wilfried Nancy tells Celtic fans he ‘can do better’ after St Mirren defeat
Wilfried Nancy has now lost three games in a row for Celtic as the Frenchman now presides over the worst-ever start to a Parkhead boss’ career in the history of the club.
And as the Hoops support try to contain their fury, Nancy sends them a big message as the Celtic boss defends his position at the club.
Nancy told the Daily Record, “It’s obviously painful, the result. Especially for the players, for the fans and for the club. I can understand. I tell them that I want to do better for sure. But I am asking them, not to be patient but to trust what I am going to say regarding I can see what we are trying to do.
“My point is I can see something good but this is not enough, we are not able to be consistent.
“I can understand the fans. It is totally normal. I can ask the fans to believe in me and to trust I can do things, but that is not my job. I have to act instead of talking.”
Wilfried Nancy tells fans he is the man for the Celtic manager’s job
There will be far more Celtic supporters convinced that Nancy is not the man to lead the club now than there were before the cup final defeat.
However, the 48-year-old maintains he is still the man for the Celtic job, “Yes, no doubt, because what we want to do we did and I am confident in that.
“If you don’t know me you may think that I am all over the place. No, I know exactly what we need to do to help the players adapt.
“We had many, many situations where we were exactly on what we wanted to do and what I am looking for.

“Before I came here, I knew the club, knew the standing of the club. For me, this is not an issue. I know what I can do. For the moment, the fact is these are not the results that we wanted, but in terms of the way we want to do it, I am really confident of that.
“The reality is in the last three games the results have not been there.
“I can’t control (the fans’ reaction) that. What I can control is what I do on the pitch with my players to have a good performance.
“This I can control. After that, I can understand why the fans can doubt. Results are results. For me, my focus is on what I need to do to find a solution.”
