Adam Idah has had an up and down start to life at Swansea City but is set to experience a major change.

Idah joined Swansea for £7m in a surprise move after Brendan Rodgers claimed that he wouldn’t be sold.

The Republic of Ireland striker is yet to really get firing and has scored two goals in 11 games.

As for the Championship club themselves, they are struggling and are 18th in the table, which could lead to change.

Poll: Which position do Celtic need to strengthen in the 2026 January transfer window?

Swansea City sack manager

Swansea have confirmed that Alan Sheehan has been sacked from his role.

Anthony Joseph at Sky Sports, reported earlier that the Swans were considering changing managers.

Sheehan was appointed on a permanent basis after impressing in a caretaker role towards the end of last season.

However, a number of poor results that includes last weekend’s 4-1 hammering at home against Ipswich Town, his position has seemingly become untenable.

It is a similar position Celtic find themselves in now as the Hoops try to find the perfect long-term replacement for Rodgers, who also previously managed the Welsh club.

Adam Idah wants to prove doubters wrong

£7m is a sizeable fee for any Championship club to part with for a striker and is the sort of money that should yield a healthy return.

Even Idah will admit he is not at his best, but the 25-year-old is desperate to prove he can be the main man, as revealed by Sheehan.

Back in September, he said: “He wants to prove it.

“We don’t want people that want to talk about doing stuff, we want people that are going to do it.

“He’s a player that I know a lot about, my coaching staff know a lot about, so when the opportunity came to have conversations it was a no-brainer really and credit to the ownership that fully backed that.”
