Adam Idah’s Norwich City absence explained as striker sparks more Celtic headlines

Striker Adam Idah is not taking part in tonight’s Norwich City friendly against German side Magdeburg but his absence appears to have nothing to do with Celtic’s interest.

Like when the Republic of Ireland international missed a Norwich match earlier in the summer, there has been a rush of headlines in Scotland and social media chatter about what it all means.

Speculation linking him with a permanent move to Celtic continues to rumble on as the Scottish champions consider upping their offer to the Canaries.

However, sitting out tonight’s match is sadly not a sign of a big breakthrough for the Bhoys.

Adam Idah couldn’t feature for Norwich

Multiple Norwich reporters including Samuel Seaman shared that he picked up a ‘minor knock’ and couldn’t feature.

Connor Southwell of The Pinkun also uploaded a photo on social media which shows Idah still in attendance at the game, despite not participating.

So nothing dramatic has happened in terms of him leaving the squad to travel elsewhere for any transfer-related business.

Idah has already played in friendlies against Standard Liege and Club Brugge this summer.

Adam Idah situation set to continue in limbo

Until there’s a definitive sign of where Idah will be playing his football next season, this is a situation that will continue to bubble away in a Celtic context.

Every movement and moment surrounding the striker will be scrutinised for a sign of what it means for the Bhoys.

However, the simple reality is that until there’s a report of the Bhoys making a bid acceptable to Norwich then he isn’t going anywhere.

Chris Sutton reckons that Idah will eventually end up moving to Celtic but it doesn’t appear to be happening any time imminently.

The wait will go on and the Bhoys weigh up the best way to proceed in the position. A striker IS needed to complement Kyogo – but that may not necessarily be Idah.
