It’s been quite a week for Alan Brazil.

He was wound up when discussing new Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy – but in fairness, is that really a surprise?

Brazil was rattled by Gabby Agbonlahor when reminded of his infamous comments on Ange Postecoglou’s appointment in 2021.

He has also continued to spread a rumour that Dermot Desmond could walk away from Celtic, but the reliability of his source for this isn’t known.

But the Nancy moment wasn’t the only time he was a bit wound up – he made a hilarious blunder in response to Lorraine Kelly and her daughter, Rosie Kelly Smith.

There can’t be many children named after Alan Brazil.

But this was the case for Kelly’s granddaughter, for a brief period.

With her daughter Rosie Kelly Smith, Kelly was discussing the birth of her granddaughter, who was initially called Alan Brazil as a joke.

On talkSPORT, Brazil was shown the clip in which Smith said: “When she was born, my partner called her Alan Brazil, because she didn’t have any hair, and she was quite round.”

Kelly added: “To be fair, for a brief moment in time, they could’ve been twins.”

In response, Brazil said: “Lucky boy.”

But the room burst into laughter when Brazil was told that the baby was actually a girl.

An embarrassed Brazil then said: “What are you laughing at Lorraine, I’ve never even met you in my life! Cheeky mare.

“Kelly Junior – how many babies do you know that come out like Mick Jagger? There’s a good chance it’ll have nae hair!

“And don’t give me that, she’s not a Dundee United supporter. She’s a Celtic supporter. The older one, the mum.”

The brilliant moment of radio is available on Talksport here, after 54 minutes.

Alan Brazil’s rumour about Dermot Desmond leaving Celtic

On a more serious note, Brazil has now said on multiple occasions, that he thinks Desmond could walk away.

He initially said that Desmond would sell his shares if the right price comes, in a surprising revelation shortly after the AGM.

He maintained the stance that Desmond was ‘fed up’ earlier this week.

Could Celtic’s principal shareholder really consider selling his stake?
