There’s a lot going on in Scotland, with Hearts on an unlikely run and five points clear, and Rangers appointing Danny Rohl after a messy start to the season and managerial search.
But Brendan Rodgers has enough on his plate. Celtic fan protests are continuing to overshadow games, with supporters’ patience with the club’s board at a breaking point.
A disastrous defeat to Kairat Almaty in Champions League qualifying left the Hoops without UCL football for the first time in four years, and the league start has been inconsistent too.
With the effects of a disappointing transfer window still being felt and fans debating the extent of the club’s issues, Alan Brazil has now weighed in.

Even in matches that Celtic have won against St Mirren, Kilmarnock and Motherwell, it has been a struggle. Performances are not trending in the right direction.

Sunday’s 2-0 defeat against Dundee was the worst domestic performance so far, and reflecting on it, Brazil discussed the malaise around the club at the minute.
Speaking on TalkSPORT with Gabby Agbonlahor, Brazil also mentioned Daizen Maeda’s struggles with his form.
He said: “Celtic, at the moment, there’s something not quite right. Celtic can address that quickly, but there’s something not quite there.
“I speak to friends of mine in Glasgow who go all the time, and the atmosphere’s not good at the moment.
“[Maeda’s] not the same player. He was electric for Celtic. But it’s not just him. Celtic are underperforming at the minute.
“Celtic have got to pick themselves up. Against Dundee, I could not see Dundee beating Celtic. So well done Dundee.
“And Hearts at Tynecastle at the weekend, if Hearts win that… to be honest, it makes it more interesting. A lot of Celtic fans would disagree with me and say ‘what are you talking about?’ But it does, it makes it a lot more interesting.”

Rodgers has said that he is open to staying at Celtic under the right conditions – but his contract is expiring at the end of the season, and everything seems to be pointing towards an imminent exit. It feels like the end of a cycle.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Sebastian Tounekti have contributed since their arrivals, but the squad needs goals with Daizen Maeda the only fit goalscorer in the team’s attack.
Couple that with underperformances from the likes of Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Kieran Tierney, and there seems to be many individual problems rather than one big one.
