Ross McCormack is one of very few Celtic fans to notably play for Rangers.
The striker, born and raised in Glasgow, began his career at Ibrox, scoring in the Champions League under Walter Smith before spending most of his career in England.
Since leaving the professional game, McCormack has been more open about his Celtic allegiance, often covering the two clubs in the media.
Alan Brazil, another Celtic-supporting striker, interviewed McCormack on Friday, making his thoughts clear on crossing the divide.
Celtic have an excellent record against Rangers after European games…
What do you think the score will be? 🤔
Alan Brazil on Ross McCormack, Celtic fan who played for Rangers
The interview on talkSPORT saw Brazil and Ray Parlour discuss the upcoming Glasgow Derby at Ibrox with McCormack. Afterwards, the radio host made his incredulity known:
Brazil: “There you go. So Ross was Rangers, Leeds, Fulham, Villa… but, a Celtic supporter!”

Parlour: Is he?
Brazil: I said it at the start, ya tube!
Parlour: Oh, I didn’t hear that. I thought he’d come through the Rangers ranks!
Brazil: He did, but he was a Celtic supporter. He kept that very quiet. Very quiet. Hopefully got a few quid for it, cos I’d never do that!
Later, the pair discussed the idea of Brazil playing for Rangers.
Parlour: Didn’t Rangers or Celtic ever ask you to go for a trial?
Brazil: No.
Parlour: Would you have gone to Rangers? As a kid?
Brazil: No, no. no.
Parlour: As a kid, you want to play football, and you know how big Rangers was. Just to play?
Brazil: No! That’s impossible! Ask McCoist if he would’ve gone to Celtic.
Brazil: No chance. Ross McCormack, that’s why admire him. I couldn’t do that.
Parlour: I thought Ross was a Rangers fan.
Brazil: I couldn’t do that, no chance. Mo Johnston, who was a great lad, by the way, but to do what he’s done… shocking. He should be chucked off Stirling Castle.

Rangers fans to play for Celtic
It’s been comparatively more common for boyhood Rangers fans to play for Celtic, as we recently saw with Greg Taylor.
Make no mistake, the defender is now fully one of us, as he showed in a hilarious interaction with Kris Boyd last year.
Perhaps most famously, Kenny Dalglish and Danny McGrain, both legendary members of Celtic’s ‘Quality Street Gang’ of the 1970s, both grew up supporting Rangers.
Scott Allan, Kenny Miller and Lewis Morgan have all played for the Hoops as Rangers fans since the turn of the century.
