One club men are hard to come by these days, especially those who are talented as James Forrest.
It may have taken a bit of time for the winger to really receive his flowers at Celtic but there can be no doubt he is beloved at the club for the 16 years he has given.
So when Adam Idah found him one-on-one with Andy Fisher in the St Johnstone goal over the weekend, the wide player’s eyes lit up at the prospect of making it an incredible 16 seasons in a row Forrest has scored for Celtic.
Fisher kept it out with his legs as Saints beat Celtic 1-0 but it begged the question if Forrest may get another chance to score this term given the fact that he might be a wee bit down the pecking order on the wing.

Alan Hutton says Forrest will find time to score for Celtic this season
But when Michael Stewart asked the question on Premier Sports’ Scottish Football Social Club show, former Rangers man Alan Hutton didn’t hesitate.
“That James Forrest (chance)…” Stewart began.
“16 seasons, consecutive seasons, if that goes in the back of the net he has scored in.
“He’s sitting on 15… will he get an opportunity to score another one?”
Hutton chimed in: “I think so, I think he will. I’ll say yes. There you go.”
Forrest has been struggling with injury this term which can account for a lack of goals so far with just 25 appearances this year, most of which have come from the bench.
What Forrest said when he made it 15 seasons in a row for Celtic
It’s a total of 832 minutes under his belt but he’s still so classy that he has chipped in with six assists in that time.
At 33-years-old, Forrest’s best days might be behind him, but there’s still time for him to hit the net after he made it 15 seasons in a row back in 2023 with a goal vs Ross County.
And at that time he said: “I’ve had a few chances this season and I’ve not managed to score so there is relief and I’m buzzing to score and get off the mark this season.
“I’ve not scored many with my head but I will take anything.”
