Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has explained that Leigh Griffiths has returned to the footballing squad and training at Lennoxtown.
Griffiths was sent home from the Welsh training camp due to off the pitch problems.
However, he is now back and available after an investigation by the club and Police Scotland.
It’s a decision that has proven controversial with a number of supporters.
Snippets of the manager’s comments have been shared around social media, but here’s the full response, via The Glasgow Times: “He is ready to go. I think I said before the whole process with Leigh was pretty simple for me.
“Obviously with regard to the incident, other people took control of that investigation and from what I understand everything has been sorted in terms of understanding what took place. From then he was made available and that’s when he came back into my consciousness as a footballer.
“And I am not the kind who absolves himself of responsibility of things but with a limit of 24 hours every day and the amount if things I need to concentrate on, I decided that I will concentrate on the things I can control.
“And once Leigh came back into the squad and everything was settled in terms of the incident then he is back being a Celtic player, back as part of the squad and available for selection tomorrow.”
Leigh Griffiths could play for Celtic again, but may not
So there you have it, with the full context. Like it or not, Griffiths could play for Celtic tomorrow and be part of the manager’s plans moving forward.
That remains to be seen of course. He has missed a lot of training with the squad and all of the pre-season match practice.

There are also reports Sunderland are keen on landing him on loan this season.
It’s unclear at this time who at the club has made the decision on Griffiths. Postecoglou suggests it was out of his control. For me, it would be helpful if the club communicated a bit more on their decision, but given it’s a staff decision that feels unlikely for various reasons.
In other news, Celtic will play FK Jablonec in Europa League path if beaten by Midtjylland.
