Kieran Tierney makes a rare Arsenal appearance in the defeat to Man United despite recent links to Celtic.
The 27-year-old was subbed on in Arsenal’s penalty defeat to United in the Carabao Cup after coming on in the 113th minute of extra-time.
The sub made no difference to the outcome of the match but what Mikel Arteta did was give Celtic fans a glimpse of the type of player who could return to Celtic Park after the Arsenal supporters couldn’t stop talking about him.
Tierney has been linked with a return to Celtic for months now and many Hoops supporters are unsure if the Arsenal man’s return would be good for the team as a whole.
Doubts remain over Tierney’s injury record but despite that, Celtic doubters must note that the Arsenal defender has played regularly for the Premier League club over his five years in London.
But now, as a Celtic move becomes a possibility, what Arsenal supporters were saying about Tierney in last night’s defeat to Man United will undoubtedly delight much of the Parkhead support.

Tierney came on in the 113th minute as Arsenal battled into extra time against a ten-man Man United side.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t find another goal and The Gunners were eventually beaten 5-3 on penalties by Rubin Amorin’s team.
But that still didn’t stop the Arsenal supporters from talking up Tierney as the former Celtic hero’s future hangs in the balance.
One Arsenal fan said, “Bought three left backs and the best one is still Kieran Tierney.” whilst another added, “See that Kieran Tierney cross as soon as he came on. He’s still our best left-back man.”
Another Arsenal fan criticised Mikel Arteta’s handling of the former Celtic man and said, “Kieran Tierney should be given so much more playing time.” as another concurred, “If Kieran Tierney leaves us then I might be Arteta out.”
Another Arsenal fan added, “I said it last week but Kieran Tierney is a great option in this game state. His ability to cross or overlap asks different questions of the opposing defence.”
