It seems as though there is always an iffy and problematic Celtic performance around the corner.
Most of those have come during the second half of the season and since the turn of the year, including during Celtic’s defeat to St Johnstone on Sunday.
Despite playing against the Premiership’s bottom table club, not only did Celtic lose the game, but Brendan Rodgers’ side also failed to score.

Go back to the two Glasgow derbies, the away performance against Hibernian, the 3-3 draw against Dundee and now this latest showing.
It’s crazy to think that this very same team took Bayern Munich all the way during the knockout stages of the Champions League and were only beaten by a very late Alphonso Davies stoppage-time goal.
No wonder Rodgers was fuming post-match, and it even surprised BBC presenter Jonathan Sutherland.

Brendan Rodgers ‘scathing’ about Celtic after defeat to St Johnstone
Given that Celtic are still on for the Treble, you would presume that Rodgers would be far more relaxed about such defeats, but think again.
BBC presenter Jonathan Sutherland explained how he has hardly ever heard the Celtic manager be so ‘scathing’ of his side following that defeat in Perth, as he told Sportscene.
Rodgers did question the players ‘mentality’, as he makes sure the very high standards don’t drop at this trophy-crazy club.
“I don’t think I have heard Brendan Rodgers be as scathing about his team and his players, that much, certainly not as much as I heard,” said Sutherland.
“In terms of mentality, and things like that. How Celtic played the game. The speed they played this game.”
Celtic’s worrying style
Everyone has been aware for months now, even the most ardent of Rangers fans, that Celtic will become champions again.
But that slow-tempo way, in which Celtic are starting matches, is becoming a worrying trend, and it needs to be ironed out.
It was explained on Sportscene how the champions-elect usually play with ‘real intensity’, but it wasn’t there, even against St Johnstone and how there are no excuses.
Richard Foster stated: “Usually, we see Celtic play with a real intensity. They move the ball at speed. I know the pitch wasn’t great. I think there were elements of that. It was a bit dry and bouncy, but both teams have to deal with that.”
