Celtic’s win over Ross County was met with a bizarre verdict by the BBC’s John Robertson.
Celtic hammered Ross County in Dingwall to open up a clear gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table yesterday afternoon.
The Hoops’ relentless start to the season has blown the opposition away as Celtic looks on course for yet another treble under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Putting on another dominant display, the Bhoys were in total control of much of the game and even after Ross County equalised, most fans always felt that Celtic would dig out another goal with the amount of quality that Rodgers had on the park.
As it turned out, Celtic surged to a 4-1 win after a double from Kyogo Furuhashi was complimented by goals from Celtic teammates Arne Engels and Luke McCowan to ensure not only all three points headed back to Glasgow but also BBC pundit, John Robertson’s really strange verdict on the scoreline.

BBC’s John Robertson makes strange claim about Celtic’s win vs Ross County
Robertson told BBC Radio Scotland, “Well, it was always late drama. We talked about it. We get more late drama here again with this retaken penalty.
“Amissa looks annoyed that he didn’t get to the second time. He couldn’t have been that far away. But I’ll tell you what, 3-1 is flattering, I would suggest, for Celtic in the end here.
“I don’t doubt that Don Cowie will be hugely frustrated because especially second half, Ross County have put a lot in and as we said, going in the last six, seven minutes, they were well in this game.
“But a really, really sharp header from Kyogo and then what looks like, is going to be a soft penalty has now taken the game out of their reach and as you say things, Celtic to an incredible 18 points clear.”
The BBC’s own stats blow John Robertson’s Celtic verdict right out of the water
Quite how Robertson arrived at that verdict is very bizarre considering how Celtic absolutely dominated the whole 100 minutes in Dingwall.
But don’t take 67 Hail Hail’s word for that because the BBC’s match stats prove that the scoreline certainly did not flatter Celtic.
