BBC pundit says Brendan Rodgers has a player at Celtic who is a ‘cheat code’

Celtic head into the final international break of the year in fine form and with serious momentum under their belt.

You can’t argue much about the performances besides two games – Celtic’s Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund and the 2-2 draw against Aberdeen in the Premiership.

The best of the lot was Celtic’s win over RB Leipzig, which breathed serious life into the team’s European hopes and quest to secure a top-eight finish.

That came days after the champions smashed Aberdeen for six and booked their Scottish Cup final ticket against Rangers in style.

That’s why Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock on Sunday was tricky and tough, but as champions do, they stepped up and made sure the points were in the bag.

Just like the past week, the man who stepped up and produced the goods was the ever-improving Nicolas Kuhn and he is rightfully being lauded for his performances.

Nicolas Kuhn is a ‘cheat code’ at Celtic

It goes to show that you shouldn’t judge a player too early because there were a few questioning and being critical of the player when he first arrived in January.

Kuhn is probably the first name on Celtic’s teamsheet now and he scored another stunning goal against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Celtic were under serious pressure and at risk of conceding before Kuhn showcased his speed by running off his man from the right flank and scoring his side’s second goal.

That’s why Lee Miller told Sportscene that Kuhn is a ‘cheat code’ for Rodgers and that ‘nobody can get near him’.

“It’s clever,” said Miller about Kuhn’s goal against Kilmarnock. “Yeah (Kuhn is now Celtic’s prized asset). In my opinion, he is playing with so much confidence. Everything he touches turns to gold.

“The other night, watching him against Leipzig, he was playing with a cheat code on. Every time he got the ball, he just looked like he was confident. Nobody could get near him. He was playing with a real confidence. You could see that again (against Kilmarnock). Real quality shown again with his goal.”

Kuhn’s stats for Celtic this season

Matt O’Riley left Celtic this summer after he was, not only his team’s best player last term, but the best performer in Scotland.

Understandably so, fans could worry about O’Riley’s exit possibly taking that spark away from the team’s attacking play.

But that hasn’t been the case and Kuhn has been one of the main reasons why because he has been outstanding in all competitions this season.

WhoScored have rated his performances at 7.56, including 7.40 in the Champions League alone.
