Celtic is certainly making big waves in the Champions League after dismantling RB Leipzig during the week.

Celtic hero, Nicolas Kuhn is deservedly drawing all the plaudits after his two goals helped to sink the Bundesliga side to almost put Leipzig out of the tournament.

And RB Leipzig’s players and management reel from the Celtic Park mauling, the performance from the Bhoys has Gary Lineker and Micah Richards extolling some more praise for another Champions League hero of that night.

‘Fabulous’ Kasper Schmeichel recognition for RB Leipzig heroics

The big Denmark goalkeeper was outstanding against Leipzig on Tuesday night and Lineker praised him for a ‘fabulous’ save Schmeichel made on the 71st minute to keep Celtic 2-1 up against Leipzig.

Lineker told The Rest is Football [20m 4s], “A shout out for Kasper Schmeichel as well, the Leicester former goalkeeper and hero. He made a few saves, but one in particular, low to his left, it was a fabulous save.”

Richards: “It was his birthday. Was it his birthday yesterday or this week? I’m sure.”

Lineker: “Was it his birthday?”

Richards: “Yeah, I think it was his birthday as well. Happy birthday, Kasper.”

Lineker: “How old?”

Richards: “So he’s a year older than me, so he’ll be 38 next, no?

Lineker: “Yeah, he’s a goalkeeper though. They can, they generally last a little bit longer than us outfield players.”
