BBC pundit blanks Celtic with Hearts title prediction that looks a little bit foolish now

Celtic were due to play Aberdeen less than 24 hours after Hearts lost to St Mirren this week.

Unfortunately for Martin O’Neill, Celtic’s fixture with Aberdeen was called off after bad weather made the pitch unplayable for the Bhoys.

With six points still separating Celtic and Rangers from Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, with 14 games left to play, there is still everything to play for among all three clubs.

Will we hunt Hearts down and win the title?

However, if Celtic fans were to listen to BBC pundit Rory Loy, they might as well just write off the season after he made a Hearts prediction that looks really foolish now.

Celtic don’t get a mention as Rory Loy predicts Hearts title win over Rangers

Celtic fans will believe that the title is still there to be won. After all, the Bhoys have come back from bigger points deficits against better teams to win the title over the years.

But Loy appears to believe that the title is just down to Hearts as he made a prediction that looks really foolish now after Derek McInnes’ side lost in Paisley.

Loy told BBC Sport Scotland, “If they [Hearts] can win [against St Mirren] this tonight, and they can win the [Edinburgh] Derby, then they go to Ibrox to go nine points clear, if they win that one, I think if that happens, then it’s theirs to lose.

“I’ll say this, if they’re six points clear of Rangers and go into the game at Ibrox, and they beat Rangers and go nine points clear they’ll win the league.

“But that’s a big ask. That’s a derby win and a win at Ibrox, that’s not easy.”

So it seems that it’s irrelevant what Celtic do, then? Considering the Hoops still need to play Hearts at Parkhead and the Tynecastle club appear to be cracking as the title pressure ramps up.

When Celtic next play Hearts and Rangers

Celtic’s fixtures are coming thick and fast. If tonight’s fixture against Aberdeen was not cancelled, the Scottish Cup was up next with Dundee visiting Parkhead this weekend.

But when do Celtic play Rangers and Hearts? Here are the two big dates fans need to look out for:
