Michel-Ange Balikwisha finally showed Celtic fans what he is made of against Motherwell.

Balikwisha came off the bench to provide the assist for Daizen Maeda’s winner in the Hoops’ 3-2 win against Motherwell.

James McFadden praised Balikwisha for his impact and he wasn’t the only one, as teammate Benjamin Nygren singled out his fellow substitute for the role he played.

Nygren was the star of the show on Sunday as he came off the bench to find the all-important equaliser that encouraged the Hoops to go on and win.

Those three points could be massive come the end of the season and signalled that everyone has a role to play.

The Sweden international admitted that he was delighted for his fellow summer signing and celebrated his role as much as he celebrated Maeda’s goal.

He told the Daily Record: “I was pleased for Michel-Ange too. I was also running to him. I was happy for him that he made such a great pass for Daizen to win the game.

“Every player in the team is important.”

Michel-Ange Balikwisha will be a success for Celtic

It has taken time for the £5m signing to get his feet under the table, but Balikwisha seemed to come to life when brought on off the bench.

With Celtic chasing the game, it was a chance to show if he could step up to the plate.

He looked more confident when taking on opponents, had better consistency with his crosses too.

After all the hype due to the fact it took over a year to complete the move, the pressure is on, but the 24-year-old will come good and will be a hit at Celtic Park.
