Rangers sacked Philippe Clement after falling further behind Celtic in the title race.
After Celtic lost to Hibs, Philippe Clement had the perfect chance to close the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to ten points.
St Mirren made the weekend trip to Ibrox and beat Rangers 2-0 to keep Celtic’s lead at the top of the league intact and, in fact, extend it by one goal as Brendan Rodgers continues his relentless defence of the title.
And it seems that that was the final straw for the Ibrox board after they dispensed with Clement’s services last night which prompted Celtic hero Chris Sutton to praise Rodgers for the job he has done at keeping the Ibrox club at bay over two spells as the Parkhead boss.

Chris Sutton praises Celtic boss after he ‘seen off’ Philippe Clement
Sutton took to social media almost immediately with a message to Rangers and to also point out the great job Rodgers is doing at Celtic
Sutton said on X, “On October 30 after the defeat to Aberdeen myself and Kris Boyd said it was time for Big Phil to go.
“The Rangers board didn’t listen. He seemed to be a decent man but didn’t understand the demands of football in Glasgow.
“Another Rangers manager seen off by Brendan Rodgers.”
Brendan Rodgers’ record as Celtic boss vs Rangers manager Philippe Clement
Rodgers has enjoyed huge success over Rangers during Philippe Clement’s time as the Ibrox boss.
In seven fixtures against Clement, Rodgers has won six, drew one and lost just once and beat the Belgian in two cup finals.
So with that in mind, here is Rodgers’ full record vs Clement as Rodgers sees of another Ibrox boss:
