Celtic fans will continue their silent protest as Braga visit Glasgow on Thursday night for the Europa League.

Following Celtic’s Champions League exit in August and then the conclusion of the 2025 summer transfer window, the supporters haven’t let up in voicing their frustration and anger towards the board.

Brendan Rodgers himself has said his fair share in the media, including calling a club insider, who went to a tabloid newspaper to criticise the Celtic manager, a ‘coward.’

But now, the Celtic fans are planning a 29-minute silent protest for their Europa League home match against Braga, and Rodgers has shared his thoughts.

Brendan Rodgers on Celtic fans’ silent protest against Braga

Rodgers’ first answer was pretty generic, and that’s the ‘focus’ of the team will be ‘on the performance on the pitch.’

But he told Sky Sports that he ‘really hopes’ the stadium will be full because ‘that’s what Celtic is about’ and that’s what ‘our history is based around.’

Rodgers also voiced that he ‘understands frustrations’, but he is still hoping for a ‘full stadium backing the team.’

“I think our focus is pretty much on the performance on the pitch, that is the only thing we can control,” said Rodgers.

“I really hope that the stadium is full because that’s what Celtic is about for me. It’s an incredible club, and our history is based around our supporters and what they bring.

“I understand frustrations, but I hope that we have a full stadium here backing the team.”

Celtic fans’ silent protest against Braga in Europa League explained

67 Hail Hail has covered the fan protests, starting away at Kilmarnock after the September international break, to this current moment.

But for supporters, or even those on the outside, who need clarification as to what is happening and why, then it has all been explained in the video below.

Whilst there will be silence, what will also be interesting to see is how many fans actually turn up.

Given the mess Celtic made by not qualifying for the Champions League, there are many paying supporters who are opting not to turn up at all for the European matches, so the numbers in attendance, and remember, this is a 17:45 kick-off, will be interesting.

Expect a lot of empty seats!
