Brendan Rodgers is revealed to have recently returned to Glasgow after his time in Saudi Arabia.
Rodgers suddenly resigned from Celtic a few months into last season, paving the way for the mayhem that ensued in the following months.
It wasn’t long before he re-emerged as manager of Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League; there, he has had an immense impact with excellent results.
In the end, things didn’t turn out too badly for Celtic either, though Rodgers is unlikely to ever return for a third spell like Martin O’Neill did.
Is Brendan Rodgers a Celtic legend?
Andrew Maclean reveals Brendan Rodgers’ return to Glasgow
Clyde Superscoreboard host Andrew Maclean revealed of Rodgers: “Funnily enough, he was on the same flight home as me, on Sunday, to Glasgow.
“I don’t think there’s going to be any speculation that he’s going to take over as Celtic manager with Dermot Desmond still there.

“But I think just coming back from a holiday, since he’s still got a place here.”
Rodgers took charge of nine of Celtic’s 38 Scottish Premiership matches, winning five. He resigned after a 2-1 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle.
He recently revealed ‘no contact’ from Celtic over a league winners’ medal, which he is technically entitled to.
Rodgers is known for his political approach to media handling – but this season, he took it to a whole different level.
His first press conference after the closure of the transfer window was quite something. He described feeling ’empty’, and blasted the ‘cowardly action’ of a club insider who briefed against him.
When asked if he knew the identity of the leak, he said ‘no’… with a subtle wink.
But if there’s one comment which sealed his fate, it was probably his infamous ‘Honda Civic’ analogy in Dundee, which was widely derided in the media.
In fairness to Rodgers, he has done a stellar job with Al-Qadsiah, securing a fourth-placed finish with the side who were only promoted in 2024.

Brendan Rodgers’ spell in Saudi Arabia so far
Rodgers was unveiled by Al-Qadsiah in December, being quizzed on his infamous ‘Honda Civic’ Celtic comments at his unveiling.
However, he took the club by storm, defeating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on an extraordinary unbeaten run which saw them emerge as unlikely title contenders.
The run lasted 17 games before eventually being put to an end by Moussa Dembele and Jack Hendry’s Al-Ettifaq.
Whilst they aren’t under the ownership of the Saudi Public Investment Fund like the nation’s major four clubs, Qadsiah are owned and funded by Aramco, the nation’s biggest oil company.
