Brendan Rodgers came out swinging again today after Celtic battled back from 1-0 down at Motherwell to grab three precious title points.
The Celtic manager was defiant mood after a week of criticism saw Rodgers pilloried after the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock last weekend.
With the team looking like another two points were slipping away, late goals from Adam Idah and Luis Palma delivered a morale-boosting win to a Celtic team that looked out of ideas in the first half at Fir Park.
However, Rodgers took aim at the Scottish media after the win and in an interview with Jane Lewis at full-time, the Irishman and didn’t miss.
Rodgers said [BBC], “The key thing for us is to stay together. It’s still a long way out, even if we draw the game today.
“Four points isn’t a lot in my experience. Four points would have been nothing, but it was important for us to get the win today psychologically.
“There’s a story being written about this club, but we will write our own story.”
Rodgers was pressed to explain what he meant by the BBC journalist but the Celtic manager refused to comment further and ended the interview abruptly.

Clearly, the team’s battling qualities on the pitch are being matched by the Celtic manager off it and it seems that Rodgers is in no mood to listen to any further criticism of his team.
However, what cannot be denied is that Celtic did struggle in the first half and Rodgers must find a way to get the team playing like they did for a full ninety minutes like they did for the final 45 minutes at Fir Park.
Celtic’s next away trip is Tynecastle where they will need to be on their mettle against Hearts as they aim to keep the pressure on Rangers at the top of the league.
