Cameron Carter-Vickers is a stalwart at the back for Celtic.
Aside from some niggling injuries, the American always starts for the club and has become one of the most reliable and consistent players in the squad.
The Celtic defender has played 37 matches this season so far which is a lot of football but he’s one of the first names on the team sheet even if his USMNT form has been criticised.
For that to be the case, the 27-year-old understands how fit he has to be to be always ready to go and put in a shift for his team no matter the situation. And in a long season, the calendar is hefty.

Cameron Carter-Vickers says Celtic’s schedule has been a challenge
That, Carter-Vickers says, is one of the toughest challenges of playing at the highest level with Celtic and he admits the populated schedule has been a task.
“Not this month but last month, back to back games and every three or four days was challenging. But as a team we navigated that period pretty well and to come out in the position we want to be in,” he told Celtic TV on their media day.
“Last month calmed down a bit and it’s nice to get some rest, but I’ve enjoyed it.”
Carter-Vickers knows the responsibility of playing for Celtic and he doesn’t take it lightly.
Carter-Vickers enjoys acting as Celtic vice-captain
That’s why whenever Callum McGregor is unavailable and he has been handed the captain’s armband, he takes it very seriously.
It is an honour for the former Tottenham centre-half to take the lead on the pitch and he says he will continue to be mindful of what it takes to do the job properly.
“I’ve enjoyed it. I did it a few times last season and the season before that as well.
“The responsibility I enjoy and it’s always good to lead this team out because you know what you’re gonna get from them. That helps.”
