Celtic’s official account for Japanese supporters was forced to delete a tweet which featured a stats-related graphic about Erling Haaland.
While Celtic reached the Scottish Cup final after beating St Mirren 6-2, Manchester City moved to within touching distance of Arsenal in the fight for the Premier League title.
Kasper Schmeichel was at the Etihad Stadium instead of watching his own team, and it seemed like the Hoops’ social media team were for a brief period.

Celtic forced to delete accidental Erling Haaland tweet
Moments after the dramatic win at Hampden Park, the Bhoys went to celebrate the result but accidentally, the Japanese account tweeted about Haaland’s goal involvements.
Translated from Japanese, it read: “Erling Haaland has been involved in 30 goals in the Premier League this season”.
That post was up for a few minutes before fans pointed out the mistake, eventually leading to the post being deleted.

We’re not sure how it managed to end up on the Celtic account either, but an identical post was then shared on the Japanese edition of Man City’s social media accounts.
In fairness, Celtic do need a proven goalscorer this summer and while Haaland may be the dream, the Norwegian may be just out of our price range.
