Kasper Schmeichel was nowhere to be seen at Barclays Hampden to watch his Celtic teammates reach the Scottish Cup final.
Celtic beat St Mirren to advance through to the final, where they will come up against Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline side on 23 May.
Schmeichel is out with his long-term shoulder problem but, instead of supporting the Hoops, he decided to attend Manchester City’s must-win Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Since admitting that he may have to retire, Schmeichel has been dipping his toes into punditry and has worked on Champions League games.
The 40-year-old seemed to be doing the same for the encounter at the Etihad Stadium; however, to do it on a day when the club you’re currently contracted to are playing feels wrong.
It may have been with their blessing but at the end of the day, Celtic still pay his wages and he is a Celtic employee. He should be at the game.
Other players like Julian Araujo, whose loan is effectively over due to injury, can be excused, but not Schmeichel.

Fans have called out the Premier League winner for his performances on the pitch, but his decision not to be at Hampden seems to be the final straw.
As one of the players out of contract this summer, the club could have been respectful and offered him a new deal to help him with his surgery recovery.
