Celtic and the SPFL’s post on Auston Trusty is now going to wind up the Rangers fans even further

Auston Trusty finally has lift off for this season.

After being injured at the start of the season, as well as being benched by Brendan Rodgers before he left, the American has now produced two outstanding performances for Celtic.

That includes Celtic downing Rangers at Hampden on Sunday, and booking their League Cup final ticket against Stephen Robinson’s St Mirren.

Trusty was named Man of the Match, and to rub further salt into the wounds, the SPFL’s official social media account has got involved, and the Rangers supporters won’t like it one bit.

Auston Trusty makes the SPFL’s Team of the Week

Rangers feel Trusty should have been sent off in the first half for his challenge on Jack Butland, and it has hurt them so much that they have even released a statement on the matter.

Added to that, Premier Sports, led by Michael Stewart, handing Trusty the Man of the Match award was bad enough to rattle the Gers supporters.

But the SPFL naming the USMNT international in their Team of the Week, and Celtic’s official social media account acknowledging it, will only wind up the Rangers mob even more.

There were several comments by Celtic fans mentioning this, with one stating, ‘here comes a statement from across the city,’ and another applauding the club for ‘top trolling.’

Trusty was the only Celtic player to make the team, as he is partnered alongside Nurudeen Abdulai, who plays under Neil Lennon at Dunfermline.

Hopefully, there is more to come from Trusty, because with Cameron Carter-Vickers out for the long term, he is needed more than ever before.
