Jota and Liel Abada should both be back in the Celtic squad to face Ross County on Saturday, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.
Both wingers were missing from tonight’s trip to Dundee United, sparking fears for Celtic supporters that they could be missing for a significant period of time.
Thankfully, that’s not the case.
Postecoglou told BBC Radio Scotland at Tannadice before the game: “Jota’s got a bit of a knock from the last game – he’ll be alright for the weekend, today came too soon. Abada’s got an illness and he’ll be alright for the weekend as well.”
Meanwhile, the Celtic boss also answered a question about reports linking teenager Ben Doak with a move to Liverpool.
The Athletic say that the Reds are ‘closing in’ on signing up the 16-year-old on his first professional contract.
Asked whether or not he could say anything about that, Postecoglou replied coolly on BBC Radio Scotland: “Nah, not really. I’ve said all along – my role in this is to look after the footballers who want to be here. The footballers that don’t want to be here? There’s another avenue there for them.”
That’s exactly the attitude we want from the Celtic boss.

No harm to Doak at all – he’s making the move he feels his best for his development, but Celtic can’t waste any time thinking about players who don’t want to be in Glasgow.
The youngster moves on and Postecoglou plans ahead without him, exactly as it should be.
