Celtic will need to find the strength to recover against Hibernian on Wednesday after they dropped points at Pittodrie yesterday afternoon.

The tale of the tape started with Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski, who curled beyond Joe Hart to open the scoring for the hosts following a period of concerted Hoops pressure.

Republic of Ireland striker Adam Idah made an impression on his debut, laying on for Nicolas Kuhn to strike home, salvaging a point for Brendan Rodgers’ men in the North East on a frustrating day for the Scottish Premiership holders.

Realistically, Celtic fans know the reality that their side have been in a title race for a while now. Every passing week, there is less room to falter for all involved.

Without a doubt, the Bhoys have flattered to deceive in their last two matches and cannot let this trend continue.

Nick Montgomery’s Hibernian side await next in Leith, having failed to win in their six league matches; however, they did claim a 0-0 draw the last time we travelled to Easter Road back in October.

Brendan Rodgers urges Celtic players not to lose concentration

In his time as a manager, Rodgers will have been involved in his fair share of situations where a side under his stewardship has had to hold their nerve across the season run-in.

Acknowledging the sentiment from supporters who unveiled a banner directed at the Celtic hierarchy, the Irishman has signalled his intention to breed confidence among the squad and urged them not to become distracted in their hunt for the title.

Rodgers stated [Football Scotland]: “I can only concentrate on the players and what we do on the field. You always find that winning games and playing well can ease those situations and that’s what we aim to do.

“Supporters pay their money and have every right to say what they want to say. But for us, we can only control what we do on the pitch. If we do that we’ll be okay.

“The key thing is not allowing it to become a distraction for us. That’s really important. Whatever goes on outside, you have to be able to deal with it.

“At a club like Celtic, at the biggest clubs, there will always be that pressure there. I don’t need to add any more on to the players. They understand that playing for Celtic brings that. My job is to give them the confidence to find the results we need. There’s still a long way to go.”

Celtic need to react at Easter Road against Hibernian

Saturday’s events against Aberdeen have come and gone, leaving Celtic with no other option but to look forward to Wednesday’s clash against Hibernian.

Of course, one statistic that may spook some in the support is the fact that Rodgers has never won at Easter Road, which is a record that needs to be destroyed in midweek.

Bouncing back with a convincing victory in Leith could go a long way to restoring some confidence at the club, given it has begun to wane slightly over the last couple of matches.
