Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer will miss playing alongside Moi Elyounoussi at club level next season after the attacker announced his exit on Instagram.
Elyounoussi, in case you missed it, said farewell to the club in a post last night.
After two solid seasons at the club, with successes and failures, he’ll now be testing himself elsewhere. It remains to be seen whether that’s at parent club Southampton or another club in a top division.
Ajer and Elyounoussi are close allies, also playing together for Norway at international level.
It is understandable then that Ajer would want to pay tribute. The defender said on his Instagram stories: “All the best Moi. A fantastic footballer and an even better friend.”

Questions remain about Ajer’s future too. It could well be one of his teammates posting a goodbye message to him in the coming weeks and months.
The big defender has already admitted he wants to leave the club this summer, after initially being promised he could go last year.
Celtic are reported to have rejected two £10m bids so far. It’s said the decisions have left Ajer unhappy.

However, he remains contracted by the Bhoys, so he’ll have to remain patient and get to work ahead of the new season. Celtic won’t want to undervalue him.
Odsonne Edouard has already returned to training and won’t be at next month’s Olympics in Tokyo – so he appears to be focused and ready for the challenges ahead.
Ajer has to prove that too while he’s earning a wage in Glasgow.
In other news, Celtic discussions with Leigh Griffiths progressing well despite online speculation.
