Hugh Keevins simply has a knack for knocking Celtic and with his verdict on Brendan Rodgers’ chances against Aberdeen, the pundit has really outdone himself.
Keevins made strange Celtic comments this weekend as he listed five reasons why he would put his pension on Rangers beating Celtic if the game was played this weekend.
After Rangers’ draw with Dundee, the prediction looks daft now and Keevins now has egg on his face after his strange Celtic verdict.
But now, the radio pundit/journalist is at it again after he made a prediction about the fallout should Celtic fail to beat Aberdeen today as he made a strange comparison about the Hoops’ first-team squad to Hearts’.

Hugh Keevins predicts Celtic ‘chaos’ if Brendan Rodgers fails to beat Aberdeen
Keevins does like a bit of controversy, and in this latest offering, the radio pundit offers an amusing Hearts comparison Celtic fans will find laughable.
Keevins wrote in his column in the Daily Record, “If Celtic fail to beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie today the curtain will go up on chaos.
“It will signal an inauspicious start to a sequence of games that includes two Champions League qualifiers and an Old Firm derby at Ibrox before the end of August.”
I mean, ok, if Celtic don’t win at Pittodrie, which could well happen, would there be ‘chaos’ in the aftermath of a draw or even a defeat?
Sure, the criticism would be there from the Celtic fans but it is likely to be directed mostly at the board than the manager due to the lack of transfer activity this summer.
Just two games into the new season and Keevins is already predicting a doomsday scenario over something that is yet to happen at Celtic.
But it gets better.
Celtic ‘don’t possess the attacking intent’ that Hearts do
With Celtic struggling to break down St Mirren last Sunday, Keevins believes that Hearts have a better attacking threat than the Hoops after they beat Aberdeen at Tynecastle on Monday.
Keevins continued, “Meanwhile, against Aberdeen today, the manager might very well have to pass off Adam Idah and Yang up front as alleged replacements for those who have gone before.
“Jimmy Thelin’s side were firmly put in their place by Hearts at Tynecastle last Monday night. But Celtic don’t possess the attacking intent that Derek McInnes has at his disposal in the Capital.”
Now look, every Celtic fan knows that the team misfired last Sunday but they also know that had it not been for the woodwork, the Hoops could have run out three or four goals to the good.
To suggest that the likes of Yang, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest, Reo Hatate, Adam Idah, Benjamin Nygren and Arne Engels don’t have the same attacking threat as anything the Hearts team have is just ridiculous.
One off-day on the opening game of the season and it seems that Keevins is writing off Celtic already.
Let’s not forget that last season Engels, Maeda, Hatate, Idah and Callum McGregor all out-scored Hearts captain and main goal threat Lawrence Shankland last season.
